After giving his life for the redemption of the world, the Lord Jesus ascended to His Father’s right hand, having been given “all authority in heaven and on earth.”
Having left His own, Jesus promised not to leave us alone, sending the Holy Spirit to indwell, empower and lead each one of His followers.
As Head and Leader of His body, the church, our Lord is present when two or more gather in His name, inspiring each believer to speak words that build up, stir up and bind up those present. In this way and in this fellowship of love, we are led to up-build one another “until we all attain to the measure of the stature that belongs to the fullness of Christ.”
In daily life, we are each a straw in the broad broom of God‘s mercy, doing the good works which He prepared beforehand for each one to walk in. As a result, no soul is left untouched as our Savior lovingly, yet thoroughly, sweeps the Earth.
Jesus’ plan depends on the many, not the few. His design for the Church, including both individual believers and our gathering in Christian assembly, might appear so simple as to be simplistic, even unbelievable. You can be rest assured that the New Testament contains ample description, more than enough information, to make it understandable to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see.
Let’s press on in order that we may lay hold of that for which also we were laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Let’s go for it!
